Sci is at SciAm Blogs today talking about a new study looking at serotonin transporter densities and how people behave in the ultimatum game, where you can punish reject unfair offers. Head over and check it out to see what I think of it.

    It would be interesting to see the results in a cross cultural study because as Joseph Henrich and his collaborators have shown responses to economic games such as the ultimatum game differ across cultures. For example, some cultures have very low rejection rates for low offers.

    If it's the case that not only do we need to do cross cultural work when studying behavior, but also when doing a different level of analysis such as looking at neurotransmitters, then that would complicates matters greatly.
